As the end of 2019 approaches the USYD Kendo Club, a couple events were held to finish off the year in high spirits! On the 17th of Decemeber, our club held its official final training but with a twist – balloon keiko! Afterwards, the year was finished off with a End of Year Dinner Party at the Kura Kura Restaurant on the 30th of December.
.
Starting with the balloon keiko, it was a training that could only be described as a carnage. Although the year was coming to an end, a fierce fighting spirit had resurfaced in everyone as they set their eyes on the balloons above the enemy team’s heads. Similar to a scenario from Mario Kart, each player had three balloons atop their heads and fought hard to defend theirs while destroying their opponent’s.
.
Following on, a final dinner party was organised for the 30th of Decemeber in order to look back and reflect on our year. It has been an eventful year and it was a good opportunity to just relax and enjoy the holidays. As per usual, our party was held at the Kura Kura Restaurant which serviced many great foods and it was good to see many people being able to attend.

Thank you to Takayama Sensei, Fujisawa Sensei, Konishi Sensei, the instructors, executive team and everyone else for helping out with the club for 2019. I look forward to seeing everyone during 2020!
