On 27-28th September 2025, several club members travelled to the Gold Coast to compete in the 2025 UniSport Nationals kendo competition. It was an incredibly emotional experience for everyone involved.
Although the results were shy of what we wanted, our team fought tooth and nail through concussions, potential fractures, and challenging situations to still bring home some medals:
🥈 Carlson Chung – Men’s Kyu Individuals
🥉 Kai Chavez – Men’s Kyu Individuals
🥈 Men’s Open Teams – Sebastian Nop, Bruce Bi, Carlson Chung, Kai Chavez, Denny An, Songze Qu, Matthew Nguyen
🥉 Women’s Open Teams – Felicity Nop, Keren Zhang, Angeline Vassios, Sylvia Xue
Congratulations to our competitors for your achievements, and a sincere thank you to our coaches and club for your training and support, particularly Nakano Sensei, Ervin, Kelvin, and Jordan. Let’s get em next year!
