Posted on May 13, 2019 by Media in Competition

WHAT IS THE AUSTRALIAN KENDO CHAMPIONSHIPS?

The AKC is a Kendo competition where each state sends representative players to fight and compete for them in various categories. It is the only time where members of other clubs in NSW don’t compete against one another but as together under one team. The competition itself is held at different states each year, thus players must travel far distances to fight.

The 44th AKC was held at Perth this year, and the competition was split over two days (individuals on the first day, team matches on the second). The atmosphere that surrounded the competitors during this time was tense yet focused as everyone had a goal they wanted to achieve.

At the end of the event, it proved to be a valuable experience as everyone’s skill as a Kendo practitioner improved greatly and a camaraderie was developed between all the NSW members. Congratulations to everyone!
