After the long competition day at DHMDK (last post here) our club held our annual general meeting – which meant a time for a fresh new executive group.
The executive team strives to run our club as smooth as possible from administrative issues to training booking. A new executive was elected as follows:

Vice President: Julie Tran
Treasurer: Ioana Levins
Secreatry: Jordan Saito-Patch
Media/Events coordinator: Simon Huynh

A thank you goes out to our leaving executives: Twins Yiu and Takuma Suto who supported USYD Kendo Club throughout the entire last year – the bad and the good times. Thank you so much!
On a separate note we decided to hold a BBQ picnic event on the beautiful summer afternoon to welcome our new execs, but mainly to give a shout out to our member – Xavier Chabeur – who will be unfortunately be leaving us next month as he goes home to France. Xavier has been training with us very much for almost two years and has been an extremely valuable member, who has recently shown some great results at competitions. The news is that he will be continuing Kendo over there, best of luck Xavier! To all members of the club – he will be around the remainder of the week so please make sure you get to keiko with him as much as possible!
