Learn how to judge — Shinpan seminar in August

Posted on August 18, 2016 by Media in Uncategorized

On the 13th of August, 2016, our club held a Shinpan seminar. We need to appreciate the hard work from two senseis as they did so much preparation and spent the entire day explaining Kendo knowledge and theory. In the seminar, we start from Kendo Kihon (basic hit use Shinai or Bokken). After that,  Sensei taught us what is the standard for Ippon (one point in Kendo) and the many things involved.

Return from the lunch break, we did the demonstration for shinpan and finally, all of us have chance to judge a formal shiai. I believe that after the seminar, our member must have more understanding on how to judge Ippon and how to do Kendo in the future training. It is also a great practice with the Shiai season fast approaching!
