Training Closure – COVID-19

Posted on March 19, 2020 by Tomo in Uncategorized

Update: 19-March-2020:

Unfortunately the COVID-19 situation has forced operational changes for the University of Sydney and SUSF.

The club has decided  temporarily to suspend our club activities starting immediately.

This was a decision made after considering and complying with the measures the University and SUSF has taken in order to reduce the risk of any further spreading of the virus, and address concerns of all members. The University has strongly advised SUSF to hold off all club activities and this has already started taking place. It is unfortunate that the closure of our club was abrupt however, please be assured that this was in interest of prioritising the safety of our members.

To clarify once more:

Taking effect immediately from now – NO TRAINING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

This means Friday 20th March has no training. Please do not turn up as the gym will deny access for our club members.

It is difficult to say when our club will resume our training. Using the government and University’s advice and information, the executive team will review the situation daily and ensure that everyone stays updated.

Club members:

It is important that due to unknown length of the club’s closure, everyone is recommended to partake in some activities to keep yourself healthy. This can vary from staying active with some routine exercise, and keeping in touch with friends through social networks.

To stay in touch with everyone, the executive team will send emails out on a weekly basis and keep our website updated regularly. We plan to bring hopeful news to everyone each week, and possibly some activities you can do in your spare time.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused for everyone. However, I hope everyone can understand that this decision has been made so that everyone may train safely in the future.

Thank you for your continued support towards our club, and I hope you all stay safe!
